Can What Kind Of Stair lifts Are There?

Everyone’s homes are different so we have different types, makes & models to suit different spaces and staircases.

Straight Stair lifts

straight stairlift is a sleek slim lift that is designed to smoothly go up and down the stairs without taking up too much room. All of our straight stair lifts are designed to be efficient and move up the stairs with ease as well as being incredibly comfortable.

Curved Stair lifts

curved stair lift is much like a straight stair lifts but it is designed to curve around the base. This is useful if you don’t have much room at the bottom of your stairs or if there is a door that you can’t risk blocking so the stair lift will need to stop in a move convenient place in the corridor.

Things To Consider When You Get A Stair lift

Can I Afford A Stair lift?

We understand that buying a stair lift can be expensive but if your Independence & safety are on the line then it’s not something you can try and go without. A stair lift is an investment that will help you for as long you have it so its better to invest a good quality lift than struggle without one.

Government Grants

If you need a stair lift but aren’t sure you can afford one then you might be able to qualify for grant to help you buy one.

Disabled Facilities Grant is a means-tested grant so it’s possible you may not qualify, or if you do qualify, the grant may not cover the entire price of the stair lift.

When you apply for the grant you have to be able to prove that you do live in the property and plan to stay there for at least the next 5 years. The council will assess whether installing a stair lift is “necessary and appropriate” for your needs.

Rules and restrictions change for every council so you will need to check what the requirements are for your area and see if you meet them. There is no set amount of money you can be allocated and again it can vary depending on the area.

If you have decided to buy a stair lift but can’t afford the price of one brand new, then a reconditioned stairlift might be the right option for you.

A reconditioned stair lift is one that’s been used before. Here at Senior Stair lifts we take these preloved models, clean them and repair them so they are in a like-new condition.

After some careful and rigorous testing to make that the reconditioned stair lift reaches our high standards we then sell the reconditioned chair lifts at a lower price.
